METHOD AND SYSTEM OF CONSTRUCTION

Cast in Place Construction
Reliable Home Builders and Trading have been part of several projects from residential/house design to construction in Metro Manila and nationwide provinces.
As part of our Vision and Mision statement, our team build and construct using method/system that is more advance and more durable than the traditional concrete hollow blocks (chb) or hollow core blocks. Reliable Home Builders build/construct using the CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS system. To further discuss this system we have highlighted some items as a comparison to the traditional concrete hollow blocks (chb). The comparisons are as followed:

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

Reliable Home Builders Team used the system/method of CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS in building/constructing our house/home projects instead of the traditional concrete hollow blocks (chb). The advantages and comparison between the two systems are as followed:

1.FOUNDATION

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

Concrete hollow blocks (chb )system is dependent on the column foundation and chb wall foundation that carries the entire load of the house/home. This column foundation and chb wall foundation are a small area or small strip of concrete mixtures and with minimal steel reinforcement. The total load or weight of the house is divided to the total column isolated footing area.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITU CONCRETE / BUHOS

Cast in place wall system uses the matt foundation or raft foundation or thickens slab foundation. This foundation is the entire foot print area of the house/home project and a lot stronger than an isolated area foundation. The total load or weight of the house is divided to the total foot print area.

2.WALL

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

Concrete hollow blocks (chb )system wall served only as partition wall of the house/home project. Concrete hollow blocks (chb )wall required more materials and skilled labor cost for plastering, plastering that we often see on old houses that have cracks due to thin thickness. Chb walls required minimum number of steel bars, steel bars that carries or serve as tension strength of the structure. The strength of every concrete hollow block (chb) is compromise due to uncontrollable backyard production of businessman, the more chb blocks per bags of cement the more profit they earn. If the concrete hollow block (chb) standard strength will be followed, each blocks should have a strength of 300psi.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITU CONCRETE / BUHOS.

Cast in place wall system serve as a partition wall and carry load/weight of the of the house/home project. Cast in place wall is a savings by lessening the use of cast in place columns and beam to hold and carry the weight of the house/home projects.

Cast in place wall is a savings and does not require plastering. After formworks is remove the wall need minor retouches and wall is ready for paintings. In addition we can save cost because the system requires minor labor cost due to use systematic formworks.

Cast in place walls uses high grade strength of reinforcing steel bars to maximize the use of the walls to carry the load/weight.

The strength of every concrete wall is guaranteed and have minimum strength of 3000psi and is 10x more stronger than the traditional concrete hollow block (chb). The concrete can be mixed using a 1 bagger mixer or a commercial ready mixed concrete. All concrete mixture is tested.

3.COLUMNS AND BEAM

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

Concrete hollow blocks (chb )wall require columns and beams to hold and carry the load of the house/home project. Concrete hollow blocks walls (chb) only serve as partition or divider.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

Cast in place wall system lessen or eliminate the use of cast in place columns and beams. A guaranteed cost saving. The cast in place can carry the load/weight of the house. For a multiple storey house/home, a proper planning can eliminate or lessen the use of columns and beams and only needs thicker cast in place concrete wall with additional steel bars as per required by the structural engineer.

4.DOOR AND WINDOW OPENINGS

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

Concrete hollow blocks (chb) wall openings for doors and windows require a highly skilled worker (expensive salary) to finish and prepare the openings. The doors and windows opening should be align and level to make sure doors and windows can fit properly.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

Cast in place wall system do not need additional work for doors and windows openings since during pouring of concrete wall, the openings is being block and covered. After de moulding the formworks, the doors and windows openings is level and ready to received fabricated doors and windows. No extra work is needed.

5.PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL WORKS

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

When installing water lines and electrical lines on Concrete hollow blocks (chb) wall, it requires additional cost for materials and labor for chipping and covering the gap.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

All water line and electrical lines on Cast in place wall system are already included and embedded during the pouring of concrete wall. The devices(faucets, wires, outlets switches, lights, etc..) are ready to be installed.

6.TIME

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

Concrete hollow block (Chb) will take a longer time to build/construct since plastering, chippings, wall alignment and etc. are needed.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

Cast in place wall system is faster to build/construct since it does require plastering, all doors and windows are ready and all pipes for plumbing and electrical are embedded after removing of formworks

7.STRENGHT

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (Chb)

If Concrete hollow block (Chb) suppliers will follow the standard. The strength of concrete hollow blocks will be 300psi. Due to greed the quality and strength is sacrifice.

CAST IN PLACE / IN SITE CONCRETE / BUHOS

Cast in place wall system minimum concrete strength is 3000psi and as per designed by structural engineer. Cast in place concrete wall is 10 times stronger than standard concrete hollow block (chb).

8.COST

Concrete hollow block (Chb) per piece is much cheaper but requires more skilled workers and many variables like columns, beams, materials and etc..

Cast in place wall is more expensive in materials but lower cost on labor and do not require or lesser columns, beams.

Base from completed house/home projects and detailed cost estimate. The cost of construction is the SAME for both concrete hollow block and cast in place wall but we must consider the benefits of using the cast in place concrete.
